About Us
Founded in 2011, AUV-IIT Bombay is a multidisciplinary student research team dedicated to designing, developing, and deploying world-class Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). Over the years, we have built seven generations of autonomous underwater vehicles under the Matsya series, with our eighth-generation platform currently under development. Combining expertise in robotics, AI, electronics, computer vision, mechanical design, and embedded systems, we engineer robust underwater systems capable of operating in some of the world's most demanding environments. Beyond international competitions, our work extends to industrial collaborations, applied research, and technologies that contribute to the rapidly growing blue economy.
